Laurin is a Offenbach based House/Techno producer, DJ and Live-Act. His first contact with underground electronic dance music was in 2008 in Frankfurt am Main. Sven Väth and the Robert Johnson Club layed the foundation. Up to now he draws inspiration from artists like The Martian, Rhythm & Sound, DJ Healer and Tin Man. As a child of the digital era he started producing music with a laptop, an interface and 2 Yamaha’s. Over the years more and more hardware arrived, while he learned to play classical instruments and contrived his own sound: A straight 4 to the floor rhythm interpreted as a fast Reggae One Drop, meeting digital/analog synthesizers and sensitive harmonies.

In 2014 Laurin had his first booking as a Drum and Bass selector. Therefore he chose to promote another artist name called Fyah inspired by the Jamaican Reggae band Raging Fyah. He got in touch with the genre in the area of his home town Bad Nauheim. The Breakaholics Crew hosted the first underground DnB parties and spreaded the vibe all over the area. Through listening to artists like Bachelors of Science, Ed Rush and Black Sun Empire his relationship with Drum and Bass was sealed. He started own regional outdoor events with pleasing success. As a Reggae music enthusiast and Dancehall lover it was more than obvious that he came up later with his favourite style to select Ragga Jungle DnB. With theclosing of D&B friendly venues and events his focus changed to the production of beats and instrumentals. He is drawing his inspiration from Roots Reggae, (Modern) Dancehall, Afrobeats, Amapiano, ATL Trap, Breakbeat and Jungle. Fyah collaborates with several MCs while he is contributing vocals and writing lyrics himself.

The third project of Laurin as a DJ is ‚Schwalheim Sessions‘ since 2015.

„Pop Music is become somewhat clinical now […] everything will be very arranged and when it’s not that way it’s something that audience is obviously aren’t able to comprehend“ (Marsha Hunt 1969)

The Schwalheim Sessions DJ sets are combining the present with the past. The past is reflected mainly in Funk, Soul, Blues-, Surf-, Rock, Reggae Roots, Cumbia, Cabo, Chicha, Salsa […] songs from the 60s and 70s. The present is livid in current songs which take up and reinterpret that sound in style and production.
